The Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) and the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) announce the establishment of YPSILON Care Tech, a new spin-off company that marks a strategic expansion of the activities of the Center for eHealth Applications and Services.

The Municipality of Rethymnon and the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) are organizing for the year 2025 a series of lectures addressed to the general public of Rethymnon. In these talks, open to everyone, the Institute's researchers will present elements of their research work in an accessible way, followed by a discussion.

The second lecture will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 20.00 by Marinos Sariyannis, a researcher at IMS-FORTH, who will present some aspects of the relationship of the Ottomans with the supernatural element during the early modern period, i.e. until the early 19th century.

A research team from the Technical University of Crete, the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), and the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) won the 1st place award in an international emotion recognition challenge using electroencephalography (EEG).

Professor Dimitris Fotiadis, affiliated Researcher at Biomedical Research Institute (BRI) of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas, has been appointed as an EMBS Distinguished Lecturer for 2025.

The Institute of Computer Science of FORTH is organizing a 3-hour workshop on “Gender Issues in Computer Science”. The workshop will take place in person at the Georgios Lianis Auditorium of the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas, with remote participation supported via video conferencing (Zoom), on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 14:30 to 17:45 EET.

The Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of FORTH, is organizing two lectures in the new field of "Systems Therapeutics Drug Discovery", which will be given by Prof. Manolis Dermitzakis and Prof. Nikos Katsanis, pioneers in this new and groundbreaking research area.

The lectures will take place -in english-, on February 17, 2025 at 12:00 at G. Lianis amphitheater, FORTH central building.

The new Science and Cultural Center of the Foundation for Research and Technology- Hellas (FORTH), housed in the historic neoclassical building of FORTH, on the corner of Averof & Zografou Street, in the city of Heraklion, Crete, will be inaugurated on Monday February 17^th, 2025 at 18:30. The consecration ceremony will be performed by his Eminence Archbishop of Crete, Eugenios.
