The Onassis Foundation Science Lecture Series 2025 (in Biology and Chemistry), that will be held from 07 to 11 of July at the Foundation for Research & Technology-Hellas, in Heraklion, Crete, aim to further educate and promote young, talented scientists, postgraduate and Postdoctoral candidates, Graduate and advanced Undergraduate students in the field of physical and life sciences.

The Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) is launching a new series of open events under the title “epikoinonITE” (a Greek acronym for: Science–Society–FORTH). These series will be of great interest to the general public, aiming to disseminate the research results and to connect scientific knowledge with everyday life and the core values of society.

The program will begin with “Contact Point”, an original series of public discussions, each time featuring a FORTH scientist and a distinguished artist. “Contact Point” brings Science and Culture into a Creative Dialogue, fostering open and constructive communication of science through art.

The 2nd Summer School of the TWINN2SET project will be held from June 30 to July 4, 2025.

The Summer School includes a series of lectures, workshops and lab tours. For the second consecutive year, the Summer School is organized by the Institute of Geoenergy/FORTH in collaboration with the Technical University of Crete within the framework of the EU-funded project TWINN2SET (Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition).

The Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas and the University of Crete are organizing a scientific symposium to honor Eleftherios N. Economou’s 85^th birthday, on June 30, 10:00-16:00. In the symposium “From electrons to elastic and electromagnetic waves” distinguished scientists will speak about basic principles and recent developments on topics where Economou has been involved in during his up to now career.

The Region of Crete, in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Authority FORTH is organizing a two-day training seminar entitled “Cybersecurity: Contemporary Challenges & the new Law 5160/2024”, which will take place on June 26–27 in Heraklion.

The seminar will feature presentations by the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Dr. Michail Bletsas, the Deputy Governor for Operational Planning, Dr. Yiannis Pavlosoglou, as well as senior officials of the Authority.

The PRAXI Network and Brookstreet webinar series continues with its 5th event, titled “Governance, Boards, ESG Principles & Funding Tools for Technology Validation (TRL 4–6)”, which will take place on Wednesday, June 18 at 18:00 EEST. The CHAngeing project invites students, researchers, healthcare professionals, and early-stage entrepreneurs to apply for the CHAngeing Entrepreneurial Programme, a fully online, 4-week (October 6–31, 2025) intensive course focused on driving innovation in health and active ageing.

PwC Greece and the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) officially launched their strategic partnership during a special event held at the Science and Technology Park of Crete, within FORTH’s premises in Heraklion. The event gathered representatives from local authorities, academia, and the business community and was honored by the presence of the Regional Governor of Crete, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis.
