Attendance at this year’s Researcher’s Night at FORTH exceeded expectations
All expectations were exceeded at this year's Researcher's Night at FORTH, which took place last Friday, September 29th, with more than 3,000 visitors, mainly young people, pupils and students, with an inexhaustible desire for learning and getting in contact with science.
Visitors had the opportunity to talk to researchers and learn about some of their research activities with significant impact and contribution to major international issues faced by humanity today, in relation to health, environment and climate change, digital and energy transition etc.
FORTH was honored by the presence of, among others, the Bishop of Knossos, Mr. Methodios, the Regional Governor of Crete, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis, the MPs Ms. Eleni Vatsina, Ms. Katerina Spyridaki, Mr. Fragkiskos Parasyris and Mr. Emmanuel Syntychakis, the Mayor of Heraklion Mr. Vassilis Lambrinos, the Deputy Mayor of Social Services, Ms. Rena Skalidi and the Deputy Mayor of Spatial and Town Planning, Mr. Georgios Karantinos, the Vice-Dean for Research and Development of the University of Crete Prof. Michalis Pavlidis and the Mayoral candidate of Heraklion, Mr. Michalis Karamalakis.
