FORTH’s Science & Technology Park of Crete held a celebratory event, open to the public, on the occasion of its 30^th anniversary. The event took place on Friday, September 15, at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The aim of the event was to present the activities of STEP-C and its significant role in supporting innovative entrepreneurship, and the activities of the companies and organizations based in STEP-C’s Incubator.

STEP-C was presented by its Director, Dr. George Papamichail, while opening remarks were also delivered by the Vice-Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Trade, Innovation and Social Economy Mr. Antonis Papaderakis and the President of FORTH, Prof. Nektarios Tavernarakis.

During its 30 years of operation, STEP-C has supported the creation and development of approximately 100 knowledge-intensive and high-added value companies, while it is estimated that about 1.500 new, highly specialized jobs have been created by its business community.
