CIDOC 2018 International Conference
The International Committee for Documentation (CIDOC) of the International Council for Museums (ICOM) introduces and promotes documentation standards and processes of museum collections or other institutions and at the same time facilitates networking among curators, librarians and people engaged in recording, studying and managing collections.
The annual conference of CIDOC-ICOM aims to support museums by deepening the understanding on documentation as a means to preserve and maintain resources and by disseminating and exchanging information and good practices concerning these resources.
The Conference is organized by the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH, the International Council of Museums, Hellenic National Committee, theRegion of Crete, the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, the Historical Museum of Crete, as well as the Department of History-Archaeology and the Department of Philosophy and Social Studies of the University of Crete, under the auspices of the Municipality of Heraklion.
The conference programme includes 100 oral presentations, 22 poster presentations and 7 special sessions on documentation management. Participants will have the opportunity to attend seminars on international standards (ISO21127, SPECTRUM) on Sunday 30/9. The language of the conference is English.
