The Institute of Astrophysics of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) organized an event aimed at showcasing science-themed board games, as part of the celebrations for the 40-year anniversary of FORTH, with the support of companies and entities from the tabletop game industry.

The successful project has been selected among many proposals in a highly competitive call for a 4-year funding with a total budget of 6.5 M€.

The Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) was pleased to host the inaugural day event of the seven ERA Chair research projects, coordinated by Greek Research Centers and Universities, within the framework of the Horizon Europe program. The event took place on Tuesday, 26^th of September 2023, at FORTH’s facilities in Heraklion, Crete, in the G. Lianis Amphitheater.

Held regularly since 2001, the Astronomical Data Analysis (ADA) summer school has been focused on training early career researchers on the state-of-the-art in data analysis techniques and tools for astrophysics.

The Coastal & Marine Research Laboratory of FORTH is carrying out a research project for the Lasithi Prefecture, concerning the beaches of Pachia Ammos and Kavousi. The project includes recording of the erosion, analysis of its causes and proposals for intervention on the coastline and improvement of security and accessibility to the beaches.

FORTH’s Science & Technology Park of Crete held a celebratory event, open to the public, on the occasion of its 30^th anniversary. The event took place on Friday, September 15, at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Τhe European Acoustics Association is a non-profit organization, founded in 1992, comprising 34 scientific Acoustical Societies, with a total of 9,000 individual members across Europe.

The joint strategic plan of the two Institutions is to maintain excellence and further expand into exciting new areas of research.

The conference’s high impact and interdisciplinary character acted as a pole of attraction for a large number of professors, researchers and students from leading European and Greek Universities and Research Centers, who honored our island with their presence.
