The Foundation for Research and Technology- Hellas will have a dynamic presence, with keynote speeches, participation in panel discussions, and numerous innovative, cutting edge exhibits, in the Innovation Exhibition InnoDays 2025. The exhibition is organized by the Region of Crete, implemented by the Innovation Business Observatory (IBO) of Crete Region, and will take place on 28–30 November at the International Exhibition Center of Crete. The event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation.

The event will take place on Monday, 24 November 2025, at 19:00, at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce & Industry and will include, among other things, two interesting lectures as well as the presentation of the “Miltiadis Karatzis” Award to a PhD candidate–researcher of FORTH, which comes with a prize of 5,000 euros.

The presentation of Christina Agriantoni’s book “Hermoupolis of Syros, 1823–1940. An Early Industrial City in the Aegean Sea” will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 19:30, at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies in Rethymno.

The Hellenic Digital Health Cluster–HDHC is organizing an event titled “Building Synergies in Digital Health – Powered by HDHC", dedicated to showcasing ongoing EU-funded initiatives and collaborations in digital health led by innovative organisations based in Crete. The event will take place on Thursday, 06 November 2025, 12:00 – 15:15 EET, at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), 100 N. The Department of Theatre Studies of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS-FORTH) is organizing a Playwriting Workshop titled “Fundamentals & Contemporary Trends in Playwriting”, led by the playwright Eirini Dermitzaki.

The workshop is funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture under the program Creative Greece 2025 – Contemporary Culture Grants 2025 and is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. Participation is free of charge.

The Municipality of Rethymnon and the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) are organizing for the year 2025 a series of lectures addressed to the general public of Rethymnon. In these talks, open to everyone, the Institute's researchers will present elements of their research work in an accessible way, followed by a discussion. The events will take place at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies in the old town, 130 Nikiforou Fokas and Melissinou.

The forth lecture titled "Natural hazards threatening the cultural heritage of Rethymno", will take place on Monday, November 7, 2025 at 19.00 by Dr. Nasos Argyriou, Assistant Researcher at the Laboratory of Geophysical - Satellite Remote Sensing and Archaeo-environment, of IMS-FORTH.

The 7^th annual Nick Kylafis Distinguished Lecture will be given for 2025 by the distinguished astrophysicist Roger Blandford, Luke Blossom Professor at Stanford University (USA).

Professor Blandford’s lecture, which will follow the public ceremony, will be in English and it is entitled “New Horizons in Extreme Electrodynamics of Black Holes and Neutron Stars”. It will take place on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, at 14.00 at the Central Amphitheater of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH), with simultaneous webcast.

In the framework of the World Space Week celebration, the Institute of Astrophysics of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas, in collaboration with the Astronomy Club of the Students of the University of Crete, and the science communication group Periastron are organizing an event (in Greek) at FORTH’s new Science and Cultural Center, located on the corner of Averof & Zografou Streets in Heraklion, Crete. The event will take place on Monday October 20, 2025, from 18:00 to 21:00 and will be open to the public while the event’s activities will be suitable for people aged 6 and above.

The 14th International Conference on Knowledge Graphs (IJCKG 2025) will be held from Wednesday, October 15 to Friday, October 17, 2025, at the G. Lianis Amphitheater, located on the premises of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. The central theme of this year’s conference is “Knowledge Graphs and Large Language Models (LLMs)”, focusing on the exploration of the intersection between these two cutting-edge research areas and the opportunities for their integration.
