Instructions for Speakers

PLENARY LECTURERS: 30’ Presentation followed by 5’ Questions and Answers

SPEAKERS: 15’ Presentation followed by 5’ Questions and Answers

The duration of each presentation is 15 minutes (30 minutes for invitees) plus 5 minutes for questions. The session chair will make sure that each presentation is kept to time. Also, a countdown timer will help you manage the time.
In the Auditorium there will be a laptop running Windows 10, connected to a projector. The Auditorium is fully equipped with Internet connection, sound and microphone installation, etc).
To ensure the smooth installation of the presentations on the Auditorium's laptop, please send your PowerPoint or PDF files before Friday 8 July 2022 to the e-mail addresses: divini@admin.forth.gr & georgiadi@ims.forth.gr
PowerPoint embeds image files directly into the file when you save them, while video files are not embedded. Only a link is made to the video file. Copy the video clips you want to insert into the same folder as the PowerPoint file. This will eliminate the problem of PowerPoint losing the link to the file.
Be sure to bring a backup copy of your presentation (and all necessary files) to the Retreat.
Please avoid using your personal computer unless it is absolutely necessary. In that case please inform the committee for the operating system of your laptop (Windows, Mac etc). The system supports VGA and HDMI. If you wish to use your own computer, it is recommended that you bring the correct video adapter to VGA for your particular model.

POSTERS: Preferably size A0

If you are selected to present a poster, you will be informed by your Institute’s Committee member. The names of the Committee members can be found on the homepage.
The FORTH SYNERGY GRANTS 2021 will be presented in a separate poster area (please see Poster Placement below).
Register as a “Poster Presenter” or as a “Synergy Grant Poster Presenter” here:
- Fill in the password given to you, to access the form.
- Upload your Abstract in pdf format, using the Abstract template
Go to the POSTER ABSTRACTS tab. Under your Institute or under the “Synergy Grants 2021” you will see the number assigned to your poster that will help you find the corresponding Poster Board.
The poster boards will be available on Wednesday 13 July, from 14.00 onwards.
The poster size must be A0 (approximately 84cm width, 120cm height).
Please use the 13^th FORTH Retreat Logo at the bottom right corner of the poster (get it here in eps).
Poster Placement: Ground Floor , 1st Floor
Please bring your own materials for mounting (thumbtacks, tape etc).
